✨ 2026 WiHN Mentor Training Night ✨
On 11 March, the Otago mentoring Programme held its Mentor Training Night, bringing together our mentors to prepare for the year ahead. This session focused on providing guidance and practical tools to help mentors build strong and supportive relationships with their mentees.
Throughout the evening, mentors were introduced to the goals of the programme, discussed what effective mentoring looks like, and explored ways to support mentees both academically and socially. We also highlighted the importance of clear communication, setting expectations, and creating a welcoming environment where mentees feel comfortable asking questions and seeking advice.
The session provided mentors with an opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another and feel confident stepping into their roles for the year, bonding over kai. We are grateful to everyone who attended and engaged thoughtfully with the discussion and can’t wait to see the positive impact our mentors will have with their mentees throughout the year.
